Entrepreneurship Skills for Women – Various Locations

Overview

The School of Business and Law at ECU is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $75,000 grant from the WA Government to help create women-led business success stories. By delivering a series of free workshops around WA, ECU will assist the Western Australian Department of Communities by empowering WA women with the knowledge, skills and confidence to foster their entrepreneurial skills.

If you are a woman looking to start, develop and/or grow your business and seeking clarity, confidence, practical know-how, essential tools, and dedicated time to focus on and nurture the growth of your business, then join us at these FREE workshops delivered in eight locations around WA!

Workshops

You’ll have access to all location workshops when you register. Since space is limited, please inform us, via email, if you won’t be attending any individual workshops, so we can offer the place to others. Workshops available are:

  • The Business Negotiation and Advocacy Workshop (1.5 hours) demonstrates the ground rules for negotiation and advocacy and identifies top 10 strategies you can use for win/win solutions. You will have the opportunity to practice your negotiation skills with some practical exercises in a fun and informative session packed with good ideas for trying out in your business (and daily life). Top takeaways from this workshop:

    • Demystifying negotiation so you can have fun and profit in your business.
    • Learning 10 negotiation strategies for win/win solutions
  • The Social Media Marketing Workshop (2 hours) will introduce you to the myriad of opportunities available to your business via social media marketing. The session will cover the following: Social Media Audit, Target Audience Persona Creation, Social Media Schedule Development, Basic Social Media Analytics and drafting of a Social Media Marketing Plan. Top takeaways from this workshop:
    • When to negotiate and when to walk away
    • Demystifying negotiation so you can have fun and profit in your business.
    • Learning 10 negotiation strategies for win/win solutions
    • The Building Business Resilience Workshop (1.5 hours) aims to impart essential concepts and tools to help you enhance your business knowledge and strategic outlook. During the workshop, participants perform an internal analysis of their business, conduct a comprehensive gap analysis, and formulate an action plan to fortify business resilience. Top takeaways from this workshop:
      • 10 practical steps for improving your business resilience
      • Understand and develop business strategies for better/improved performance
      • Understand and plan for how your business can cope in a crisis environment
    • The Networking for Business Success Workshop (1.5 hours) aims to enable you to grow your business network. You will learn networking skills to grow your business in new ways, learn strategies to build your confidence in networking and provide you with tips and strategies on how you can become more effective at business networking and help promote the success of your business. Top takeaways from this workshop:
      • You will learn networking skills to grow your business in new ways
      • You will learn strategies to build your confidence in networking
      • Tips and strategies to use networking for improving your relationships with other businesses
    • The Building a Vision for your Business Workshop (1.5 hours) aims to provide you with an opportunity to develop a vision for your business so that you understand what it is you want to achieve in your business pursuit, and the strategies and practical steps required to achieve this. The three takeaways from this workshop will be a visual representation of your vision for your business, a better understanding of your goals and an overview of some of the strategies and practical steps required to achieve your goal. Top takeaways from this workshop will be:
      • A visual representation of your vision for your business
      • A better understanding of your goals
      • An overview of some of the strategies and practical steps required to achieve your goal

    Participation will also connect you with other business owners on similar journeys and facing similar challenges, so you can learn from and assist each other. Workshops will be highly interactive and enable you to work on your business with the workshop facilitators.

    These workshops aim to empower Western Australian women with the knowledge, skills and confidence to foster their entrepreneurial skills.
