Small business in all areas of the economy regularly fail, particularly in the second and third years of operation because of a lack of understanding of small business tax basics. This means that despite the business concepts, marketing and strategy execution being good, businesses fail to account for GST correctly, fail to make provision for income tax or fail to record transactions properly. Early stage taxation knowledge is an important element of business success.
