On 14th November 2024, Edith Cowan University School of Business and Law, participated in the Carbon Literacy Action Day for the third consecutive year. Carbon Literacy Action Day (CLAD) is the world’s largest climate education-and-action training event, coinciding with COP29!
The Action Day is a movement that sees the largest number of people, from all corners of the globe, simultaneously complete Carbon Literacy training in a single day.

Addressing climate change starts with knowledge and action and we were proud to inspire meaningful change through our Carbon/Climate Literacy Training Programs, aligning the delivery of three training sessions withCarbon Literacy Action Day!
Here’s how we made a difference with our three cohorts:
🩺 WA Health’s SMHS: 28 professionals participated in our tailored Carbon Literacy training to advance sustainable practices in healthcare.
💧 Department of Water and Environmental Regulation: We rolled out Climate Literacy Training since 2022 as part of a multi-year collaboration to foster climate action within the department.
🎓 General Executive Education: We’ve been expanding our reach and commitment to empowering leaders with climate literacy through our Executive Education programs.
This isn’t just about education—it’s about sparking real change. Together with participants from across the globe, we’re taking a stand today for a low-carbon future.
In 2024, ECU Executive Education delivered climate training to over 80 participants, fostering a network of individuals ready to make a difference through their personal and professional influence.

Event Details
The Carbon Literacy Action Day (CLAD) is the world’s largest climate education and action training event of its kind. It brings together thousands of people from all walks of life, ages, backgrounds and nations all across the world, to simultaneously complete their day’s worth of Carbon Literacy training. 🌎
While world leaders gathered to negotiate on climate policy in Baku, Azerbaijan, Carbon Literacy learners were on-the-ground learning, collaborating and becoming empowered to take the best action they can on climate change, wherever they are.
