ECU SBL awarded funding to create women-led business success stories
Empowered Women, Thriving Businesses: A Look Back at One of Our Most Transformative Projects
In 2024 the School of Business and Law at ECU was awarded a $75,000 grant from the WA Government to help create women-led business success stories. By delivering a series of free workshops around WA, ECU assisted the Western Australian Department of Communities by empowering WA women with the knowledge, skills and confidence to foster their entrepreneurial skills.
These workshops were developed by women, for women and sessions were delivered in eight different locations in WA; Albany, Bunbury, Collie, Geraldton, Karratha, Margaret River, Northam and Perth.
This initiative empowered women in Western Australia through five inspiring workshops* designed to build skills, foster connections, and drive economic independence. It’s been instrumental in advancing gender equality, promoting social inclusion, and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in WA.
We’re thrilled to share the highlights (see right of screen) from the Women Entrepreneurs Project.
* the five different workshops at each location were:
- The Business Negotiation and Advocacy Workshop
- The Social Media Marketing Workshop
- The Building Business Resilience Workshop
- The Networking for Business Success Workshop
