Hosting a Work-Integrated Learning Student

Partner with us

Edith Cowan University’s School of Business and Law partners with government, non-profit and private organisations to deliver a high-quality Work-Intergrated Learning (WIL) program. Partnering with the School offers organisations:

  1. Access to emerging talent
  2. The chance to shape the future workforce
  3. Fresh perspectives and the latest academic knowledge to drive innovation and growth
  4. Opportunity to develop staff skills through mentoring and coaching students.

How It Works

We offer undergraduate and postgraduate WIL students across a wide range of disciplines, including:
Accounting, Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Health Management, HR, International Business, Law, Marketing & PR, Project Management,  Supply Chain Logistics, and Tourism.

Students typically begin placements in February, July, or November. Some undergraduates are available year-round.

For work-based roles, our WIL team recruits students and matches them with hosts based on organisational needs. Students may also find their own placements. Project and consultancy partners are managed by each discipline area.

Am I a Suitable Host?

Hosts receive free supervisor training and complete a suitability check to ensure a safe and supportive workplace.

Hosts must provide qualified supervision for example, a marketing expert for digital tasks. Supervisors monitor performance, give feedback, and may contribute to student assessment.

We provide guidance on IP, confidentiality, insurance, and roles and responsibilities
